Responsible Research Webinar - Assessing risk of bias in studies that use animal & human cell models

Abstract

Join Dr Paul Whaley, Dr Gro Haarklou Mathisen and Dr Nikki Osborne for this LIVE responsible research webinar discussing the “Assessing risk of bias in studies that use animal & human cell models"

During this session Gro and Paul (Senior Advisor and External Expert, Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and Environment) will discuss the extent to which limitations in the design and conduct of an in vitro study may introduce bias or distort its results and the impact this has on study validity. They will also introduce INVITES-IN, a new expert-informed tool designed to help users by providing a comprehensive approach to identifying potential sources of bias, to enable users to distinguish between studies of lower and higher validity before answering any questions that the audience may have.

Attend this webinar to learn about: - how biases impact the rigour and reproducibility of research; - common sources of bias that need to be managed when planning, designing and reporting research; - where things commonly go wrong when conducting research and how to identify issues; - how/why the INVITES-IN tool was developed and how to use it; - find useful resources and further information.

If having attended the event you would like to receive a certificate of attendance to use for CPD purposes this can be requested via email. Please note that there is a £5.50 charge for validating your attendance, marking your quiz answers to assess achievement of the learning outcomes and issuing the certificate.
