ERROR: A Bug Bounty Program for Science
Malte Elson, University of Bern
Abstract
The scientific enterprise, as a human profession, is not immune to error. Several failsafe mechanisms (e.g., peer review) exist to catch mistakes before publication, but errors still routinely make it through.
ERROR is a comprehensive program to systematically detect, report, and prevent errors in scientific publications, modelled after bug bounty programs in the technology industry. Reviewers are paid for finding substantive flaws in published work.
Mephi's AI summary: ERROR is a comprehensive program to systematically detect, report, and prevent errors in scientific publications, modelled after bug bounty programs in the technology industry.
